For ‘Dollhouse’ on Fox, the set is one of the stars
There's an article at Los Angeles Times about the Dollhouse set and it's an interesting read; an extract is posted below, it also features two new images of Eliza on the set so I've added those to the gallery. Happy reading!
"We were so keyed up and when Joss decided to scrap the pilot, we started to wonder, 'What did we do wrong? What didn't we achieve?' " production designer Stuart Blatt said. "But second chances are sometimes very refreshing."
Blatt, who worked on "Angel," says the "Dollhouse" set is the largest he's built in his 20-year career. Before settling on a design, Whedon pored over architecture books, focusing on traditional and modern Asian building styles and elegant spas. Much of his inspiration came from "Thai Style" by Luca Invernizzi Tettoni and William Warren and "Architecture in China" by Philip Jodidio.
"It's not normal for other producers to be so prepared, but it's normal with Joss," Blatt said. "We looked through everything, weeded out some ideas and came up with this world-class spa that's sealed off from the rest of the world and has a minimalist Japanese feel to it. Joss knows exactly what he wants, but at the same time, he's flexible and he allows you to surprise him."
‘Ghost’ Promo Captures

‘Dollhouse’ Production & Episodes

• Dollhouse will wrap shooting in the next few days, then season 1 will be complete! 14 episodes are more or less in the can, with 13 scheduled to air.
• FOX has changed the episode order, which isn't too big a deal since the first few episodes are relatively stand alone and some episodes were knowingly shot out of order. This explains why 'The Target' is now episode 2, and not episode 3 as previously stated.
• The new episode order, as far as we can tell, is as follows:
1x01 Ghost - Feb. 13 (2nd episode shot)
1x02 The Target - Feb. 20 (4th episode shot)
1x03 Stage Fright - Feb. 27 (5th episode shot)
1x04 Gray Hour - Mar. 6 (3rd episode shot)
1x05 True Believer - Mar. 13 (7th episode shot)
1x06 Man on the Street - Mar. 20 (6th episode shot)
