Paley Fest 2009: Whedon’s Dollhouse Goes Post Apocalyptic Horror?
It's Paley Fest 2009 and Joss Whedon is dishing out all the dirt on Dollhouse Season 2 and that mysterious 13th episode. Will Dollhouse return? Will we see the 13th episode? Joss Whedon - I've been talking with the network and the studio which are two very separate entities, although they have the same name, about this episode. It was made for the studio because they needed a 13th for foreign DVD, they didn't even watch us make it because we made it on the cheap. It's very strange and to me extraordinarily lovely episode and they weren't necessarily going to air it and FOX studios was sort of going (in a mad scientist voice) ‘This is the DVD extra, we'll sell all the DVDs in the world!’ And they weren't really pushing it on the network. I've been sitting down with them saying I just want this to air as part of the season, I'm really proud of it. It's unbelievably strange and they just said, 'OK we're gonna take a look at it,' and we've been talking to each other, so the jury is out on that right now.

‘Dollhouse’ DVD News & Season Finale

The press release for episode 12 of Dollhouse, titled 'Omega', says that it's the season finale -- FOX has decided not to air episode 13 after all -- but it will be available on the season 1 DVD, which will be released sometime after Comic-Con in San Diego (end of July.)
And finally, FOX are still deciding whether to renew Dollhouse or not, though there have been rumours of a second season being confirmed.
Bittersweet news. 
However, I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
Gellar Considering A “Buffy” Movie?
An interesting rumour, but I'd be excited if it came to fruition since I'm a huge fan of Buffy, and like many others, first came across our girl in this series. The article is posted below, courtesy of Dark Horizons.
ShowbizSpy reports that Sarah Michelle Gellar is in talks to reprise her role as Buffy Summers in a film sequel to the hit series which wrapped up a successful seven season run back in 2003.
Insider reports say that the idea for the script has the story picking up with an older Buffy, who might even be a mother. While Gellar is currently busy with other projects, she is excited about the idea.
The franchise still has a large fan-base and in-built audience, the main questions are the timing and how many of the cast members like Alyson Hannigan, Nicholas Brendon, Anthony Head, Michelle Trachtenberg, David Boreanaz, James Marsters and Eliza Dushku would be available.
Kristy Swanson starred in the initial comedic film incarnation of "Buffy" back in 1992. That film bared little relation to the darkly humored, mythology-heavy and emotional series that followed in 1997.

Dollverse has confirmed that all 13 episodes of Dollhouse will be available on DVD, as well as the unaired pilot titled, 'Echo'; cast commentaries; interviews; and other undecided extras.
So happy about this!
I shall keep you guys posted on the release date for both region 1 & 2.
EDIT: It has also been confirmed that the Blu-Ray will be released on the same day as the DVD.
‘Iron Man 2’ Casting Campaign
Yesterday, we lamented the lack of "Iron Man 2" movie news, but it looks like Eliza Dushku has come to the rescue. The star of Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse” television series kicked off an Internet campaign Thursday on the Howard Stern show to get her a role in “Iron Man 2” — and not just any role. She wants to play The Black Widow.
“They’re doing ‘Iron Man 2,’ and I’m so perfect for the Black Widow character, that they just need to get into it,” said Dushku. “They need to understand… I just learned Russian because I had to play a Russian girl in ‘Dollhouse.’ Maybe we could all tell them. Lets get on a Black Widow Iron Man 2 campaign.”
Theoretically, it seems like it could happen, since previously announced Black Widow actress Emily Blunt has scheduling conflicts that could endanger her role in the blockbuster’s sequel. In fact, this could be an ideal situation, considering Dushku already has the Russian down and the fighting skills (check her out as troubled vampire fighter Faith in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”).

Watched ‘Dollhouse’?
Hope everyone managed to catch the premiere of Dollhouse last night, but if you didn't manage to watch/record Dollhouse, you can also view the episodes online at FOX as well as Dollverse where you will be counted as an official viewer. This does apply to US residents only, however, if you download a nifty piece of software called Hotspot Shield, then non-US residents will be able to view the episodes as well; I shall be testing this theory out myself!
Feel free to leave a comment regarding the episode and Eliza, but be careful not to include any spoilers.
