‘WET’ soaks up retail spotlight in September
Courtesy of USA Today, we now have a release date for Eliza's new video game, WET -- September 15, 2009.
The article is posted below.
Bethesda Softworks high-style action game WET is arriving on store shelves for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 15, the publisher announced in a statement.
The third-person shooter features Rubi Malone, a "gun-for-hire" voiced by actress Eliza Dushku, who is betrayed by a mysterious wealthy man while completing a job. The combat mixes third-person gunplay, swordfighting and acrobatic moves such as flips and wall-running.
"We’ve worked really hard to make WET different from any other action game available", says Patrick Fortier, Creative Director at developer A2M, in a statement.
WET will join games such as The Beatles: Rock Band, Need For Speed: Shift and Halo 3: ODST in the September release schedule.
New ‘WET’ Project?
It has been revealed that Eliza is in talks to make a live action film of her video game, WET, which has Eliza voicing the main character. How cool would that be? I suspect this is the big news that Eliza was teasing us with on Twitter.
Wonder Women panel rocked Day 1 Comicon. Dollhizzy w/ J-fizzy 5p mañana. BIG Dushku news/announcement up too folks~ (love my 3rd person?)
‘Open Graves’ Premiere!
Dread Central has posted a premiere date for Open Graves, which completed production back in 2007; an extract from the article is posted below.
Remember that Eliza Dushku movie about a group of surfers finding a cursed board game that claims a life whenever played? It seems like we've been reporting about Open Graves for a couple years now. That might be because we have. We last reported on it this past February, quoting Dushku herself as being unsure if or when the film would see the light of day. How does September 19th on Syfy sound?
For those of you dying to see Eliza Dushku wet and in peril after playing a board game made from the skin and bones of a witch executed during the Spanish Inquisition, set your Tivo's and DVR's for Saturday night, September 19th, at 9/8 Central.
The Prophecy of the Sisters
Another project from Eliza to look forward to! It may not to be everyone's taste, but Eliza has narrated an audio book titled 'The Prophecy of the Sisters' which is due to be released in August, according to the publisher's website. The short extract is posted below.
The Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink, read by Eliza Dushku. This debut gothic novel, a romantic story about twin sisters fated to be enemies, is narrated by the star of Joss Whedon's new cult hit TV series, Dollhouse, which was recently renewed for another season. The in-demand Dushku reportedly left one recording session to go directly to a cover shoot for Maxim. (Hachette Audio, Aug.)

Possible New Project?
The Names Blog at The Boston Globe posted a little titbit about a possible new film role for Eliza last week (June 16) -- though I'm pretty sure filming is halfway done & Eliza started filming the new series of Dollhouse this month so don't get your hopes up.
The short article is posted below.
It's hard to slow Eliza Dushku down. At 28, the actress reckons she's been to 30 countries, including, most recently, a trip to Uganda to meet with former child soldiers attempting to reintegrate themselves into society. But even when she's sitting still, as she was yesterday with boyfriend Rick Fox at the Capital Coffee House on Beacon Hill, Dushku's mind is elsewhere. "I'm wearing my green today," said the "Dollhouse" star, showing solidarity for Iran's Green Revolution. "It's a bra, but that's OK." Dushku, who grew up in Watertown, has been in town shooting "Valediction," a psychological thriller in which she plays a temptress. (The target of her affection? A married man played by "Chronicles of Narnia" actor Ben Barnes.) "On paper, it's 'Fatal Attraction' and 'Black Widow,'" she said. "But when we shot it, Ben's character was more redeeming." Dushku is returning to LA today to begin work on season two of Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse," and to get cracking on a biopic of famed photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. Her company Boston Diva Productions is producing, and the actress's brother Nate is set to star. "We're working with the Mapplethorpe estate and Patti Smith is interested," said Dushku. (It'll be the first feature from "DiG!" director Ondi Timoner, whose most recent film "We Live in Public" bowled over the actress and her baller boyfriend.) Is Eliza intimidated to be producing? "I've been in this business now for 18 years, I've taken some notes," she said. "I can't settle for showing up and looking pretty." We may see her again soon: She just read for the part of a tough-talking Charlestown chick in "The Town."
