‘The Perfect Moment’ Confirmed

Thanks to the same article at Loaded Gun, we also have confirmation of the identity of The Perfect Moment -- it's the title of the Mapplethorpe biopic; an extract is posted below.

Up next for Dushku is the biopic called "The Perfect Moment" on iconic photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, who died of AIDS in 1989 at age 42 before posthumously snagging national headlines in the '90s for his highly stylized black-and-white portraits of naked men and oddly erotic flowers.

The Bring It On beauty has cast her brother, Nate, as the controversial photographer. "Nate physically has an uncanny resemblance to Robert," she says to E! Online. "Some pictures are really eerie."

Sundance winner Ondi Timoner has signed on to direct.

Sounds like Eliza shall be busy! I'm certainly looking forward to both of these projects. :)

Details on ‘Valediction’

We finally have some additional information about Eliza's new movie, Valediction, thanks to Loaded Gun! Several extracts are posted below. :)

The premise of the film? When a car accident leaves a father fighting for his daughter’s life, his journey for the pieces of the puzzle that will save her lead him to discover it's actually his life that he is fighting for. In the film, Dushku plays the daughter in the flashback scenes.

Dushku co-stars with "Prince Caspian" hottie Ben Barnes and veteran actress Brenda Fricker. Both Dushku and Barnes are slotted to shoot a Christmas party scene on Tuesday, June 9 at Whiskey Park at the Boston Park Plaza until 11 p.m.

The indie film's crew has reportedly set up shop at a make-shift production tent in South Boston's Seaport District. The word "valediction" is a Latin expression used to say farewell.

Movie titled ‘Valediction’

Eliza has confirmed on her official Twitter that the movie is called Valediction -- and not The Perfect Moment as previously reported.

Filming a fantastic film in Boston "Valediction" kids! Shooting over @Whiskey Park & other Beantown loca's.. Keep an eye out!

And yes, I do believe Eliza is filming with the actor Ben Barnes -- not the director -- as a friend of mine has read the script ("it's really good!") and has confirmed that Ben is one of the leads.

New Movie with Ben Barnes?

The interview with Blast has revealed that Eliza's new movie is not the Mapplethorpe biopic but rather something new altogether!

Eliza said she’s filming a psychological drama in Boston with Ben Barnes based on what she called “a really beautiful script.”

Personally, I can't wait. :)

Eliza has also tweeted on her official Twitter that she will start shooting today in Boston (though bare in mind I'm a good 9 hours ahead, time zone wise. ;) ) I shall keep you guys posted on any news or pics!

Tweeters- last night in LA. Boston bound in the a.m. Mwah!
Flying to Bost tomorrow to shoot!

EDIT: IMDB has the movie titled The Perfect Moment for a 2011 release. Confirmation to follow!

E3 2009: Blast EIC falls in love…

Blast (Boston's online magazine) recently interviewed Eliza at the E3 summit about WET; the interview is posted below, it's a good read. :)

Blast got to chat with the one and only Eliza Dushku, star of the new Bethesda Softworks action title Wet.

Let’s get this out of the way right now: Eliza Dushku is so cool. She gives a firm handshake. She talks to everyone around her, even the burly security guard. And she gets really into watching people play her game.

Anyways, on with the beans we got her to spill.

BLAST: Is this your first video game?

ELIZA DUSHKU: No. I was in Buffy and and then the Yakuza game.

BLAST: What do you think of Wet so far?

ED: I’m into it, and I have a friend that came down to test out the game. He’s 14. His name is Kyle. He says it’s really good and I trust him.

BLAST: Is there a big difference between doing a video game voiceover and a movie voiceover and then just plain acting?

ED: Um. It depends. It’s just a whole different — it’s you, but it’s not. It’s kind of like for this video game I didn’t do all the body muscle stuff. I knew she already sort of had a rhythm, and I felt in a way more like I was getting into her established character and trying to find the right fit, you know what I mean, to give her.

I actually decided that I should smoke a few cigarettes each time we did it. My friend was like “your voice is so low,” and I was like “yeah that’s the cigarettes.” I quit smoking, but I was like “eh, it’s for work.”

BLAST: Have you had a chance to play through Wet and see yourself in action?

ED: Just a little bit. It’s awesome and I love, you know, that Tarantino, “Kill Bill” look to it — the whole 70s, grainy, the music. I think its really sexy. It’s sexy and it’s exciting and she’s a real working class Lara Croft, Jack Daniels-confident, tough, hard as nails, she’s international. She’s in Hong Hong and the UK, and she’s going wherever she needs to go to take care of business.

Eliza Voicing ‘WET’

Another project to add to Eliza's resume! Eliza is the voice of the character Rubi Malone, a hired killer, in a brand new video game titled WET (for "wet work," as in assassinations); an extract about the game is posted below. :)

"She's hard," Dushku says. "She's Jack Daniels-drinking, catted-up and aggressive, and she's really there to get the job done. Anyone or anything that gets in her way is a casualty."

"In my mind, she's really like a working-class Lara Croft. And I love the scope of it. It plays out in Arizona, San Francisco, Hong Kong and the U.K. I love that she's on the move and that she's international like me."

Raven-haired Rubi wields guns and swords while performing Matrix-style acrobatics. "The way you can make her move is extraordinary," says Dushku, who recently returned to the studio for new dialogue. "They've made it a little more mature. Added a few more F-bombs. So my nephews won't be able to play it for maybe five years."

Due this fall for PS3 and Xbox 360, WET's storyline was created by screenwriter Duppy Demetrius (24, The Closer) and also features Malcolm McDowell.
